Felt like a modern take on Stoner and I have the same review: very well written, but I don’t care about it.

There was even a drawer full of takeout menus, arranged alphabetically. That it was obvious Addie had gotten great pleasure, even joy, out of doing all this made George feel sorry for her. But mostly he felt sorry for himself. Because these things did nothing for him. And recognizing this made him feel spoiled and ungrateful.
